Yuvak Mandal
- Here are several important events that led to the creation of the Yuvak Mandal in Kadiawad:
- On January 1st 1947, several friends and students got together. Everybody knew the motive of the meeting was to discuss the formation of a 'Mandal.' After several discussions, Shree Ravindrabhai Mistry presented his thoughts and explained the need to have some sort of Mandal. Everybody was in an agreement, and as a result a seed of Yuvak Mandal was planted. More meetings followed and a clear agenda was then established. To create and build a better future generation, it was decided to help deprived students financially by providing books for school. A small Student Fund was then created with the help of people living abroad in Africa and Fiji. Youngsters were encouraged and engaged in good behavioral activities, lectures, discussions and samajsevas.
- On 25th. July 1949, a general meeting elected its very first President and working committee and passed a constitution:
-
- President:
- Ravindrabhai P. Mistry
- Vice President:
- Jagubhai Nanabhai Patel
- Secretary:
- Naranbhai Kikabhai Patel
- Vice Secretary:
- Dayalji Gandabhai Mistry

- On August 24th, 1949, Jyoti Band Mandal was created.
- On January 11th,1950, a farewell ceremony was held by the Mandal for Dr. Keshavbhai Makanbhai Patel, who was going away to Darban, South Africa. He gave a donation to the Mandal of Rs. 50 and promised to send a donation each year. A saving plan was devised and National Saving Certificates of Rs. 800 were bought at 4.15% on two of the trustee's names.
- Naranbhai Kikabhai Patel became the President in 1951. A farewell party was held by the Mandal for Ravindrabhai P. Mistry. Everyone appreciated his roll as the fundamental stone of this structure. The Mandal thanked him for his valuable service and requested him to keep giving guidance from abroad. He left for Aden on April 22nd, 1951.
- In 1952, Babubhai Morarbhai Patel was elected President of the Mandal. On January 28th, 1952, a motion was unanimously passed by the Mandal to build a new building 'Punch Nu Maakan' and a new temple for 'Ingraj Maa'. Free books were given to 10 students. On July 3rd, 1952, a Letter of Honour was given to Ravjibhai Mangabhai Mistry for collecting and bringing a considerable donation from abroad.
- On Octobar 31st, 1955, Ranchhodbhai Dayalbhai Mistry performed the ceremony for the 'Laying Foundation' of the Makaan'.
- There were two groups in Kadiawad who were primarily the caterers for weddings for the village. Both had their own big kitchen utensils used for cooking at weddings for large number of guests. Both groups were known as 'Punch #1' and 'Punch #2'. On December 1956, all utensils were brought together and kept at one single place.
- On January 23rd, 1957 Sukhabhai Dahyabhai Mistry performed the ceremony for the 'Laying Foundation' of the new 'Shree Ingraj Maa Temple'. All the contractors and people from Kadiawad gave their free services to build the temple. Babubhai Sukhabhai Mistry made two 'Trishul' of cement on both side pillars.
- On September 3rd, 1958 a new statue of Ingraj Maa was founded in the newly built Temple. The ceremony was performed by Ranchhodbhai Dayalbhai Mistry. The total cost was 7000 Rs; including 1300 Rs for the new statue, Navchandi Yagna, and Maha Prashad.
- After building a small temple beside the new one, the old statue of Ingraj Maa was reestablished on October 21st, 1960.
The Mandal worked very well until 1957. Every year a report was published, entertainment programs including dramas were performed, and deprived students were helped with books and school fees. All other activities went well also. But then as the saying goes 'there is ebb and tide in the ocean,' its activities diminished. There was no President and no committee for next seven years. During those dreary years, Naranbhai Kikabhai Patel single handedly kept the Mandal alive on oxygen. Then Ravindrabhai P. Mistry came briefly from Aden, and in 1964 the Mandal was rejuvenated. Ravindrabhai once had a dream in the early 1950s for a Library in Kadiawad, and he finally helped establish it. Ranchhodbhai Dayalbhai Mistry then became the President. In 1968, at the end of the year, an entertainment program was held during which Naranbhai Kikabhai Patel was awarded an Honorary Medal for his long and valuable services.
